Canada Travel:Toronto and Niagara

Updated: Jul 5, 2023

April 2021

Toronto is a world-renowned city that is widely regarded as one of the most diverse and multicultural cities in the world. Travellers from all over the world come to visit this vibrant and bustling metropolis, which offers a rich mix of culture, entertainment, and outdoor experiences.

One of the most appealing aspects of Toronto for travellers is its diversity. With over 140 languages spoken in the city, Toronto offers a rich mix of cultures, cuisines, and traditions. Travellers can explore different neighborhoods, such as Chinatown, Little Italy, and Little India, to experience the city's vibrant multiculturalism.

Toronto is also home to several iconic attractions, such as the CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the Art Gallery of Ontario. These top-rated tourist spots offer travellers an opportunity to learn about the city's history, culture, and architecture.

In addition to its attractions, Toronto has a thriving food scene, with many top-rated restaurants, food markets, and street food vendors. Travellers can enjoy a range of cuisines, from traditional Canadian dishes to international specialties. Toronto is also home to many microbreweries, wineries, and distilleries, making it a great destination for food and drink enthusiasts.

Toronto is known for its lively entertainment scene, with many theaters, music venues, and festivals throughout the year. There are also many nightlife options, from trendy bars and clubs to cozy pubs and lounges. Travellers can catch a concert, play, or comedy show, or enjoy a night out on the town.

Despite being a bustling city, Toronto has many beautiful parks and natural areas to explore. High Park, the Toronto Islands, and the Don Valley Ravine are just a few of the popular outdoor spaces where travellers can enjoy nature and outdoor activities. Toronto is also home to several professional sports teams and world-class venues, making it a destination for sports lovers.

I visited Toronto on April 2021, post winter, but still during these times, it is still chilly. Toronto during the winter can be a beautiful and magical time. While the city can be quite cold and snowy, there are still many things to see and do.

One of the most popular winter activities in Toronto is ice skating. The city has many outdoor skating rinks, such as the famous rink at Nathan Phillips Square in front of City Hall, as well as indoor rinks throughout the city. Skating is a fun and quintessential winter activity for visitors of all ages.

Another popular winter activity is visiting the Toronto Christmas Market. Held annually in the historic Distillery District, the market features festive vendors, live music, and a huge Christmas tree. The market offers a great opportunity to shop for unique gifts, enjoy delicious treats, and soak up the festive holiday atmosphere.

Winter is also a great time to visit Toronto's many museums and art galleries. The Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario are just a few of the top-rated cultural institutions that offer unique exhibitions and events throughout the winter season.

For those who enjoy winter sports, Toronto is home to several ski hills and snowboarding parks within an hour's drive of the city. Travellers can hit the slopes at places like Blue Mountain or Mount St. Louis Moonstone for a day trip outside of the city.

(A first hand travel hack from yours truly)

If you are coming from Toronto and looking for a way going to Niagara falls.

One way that i can suggest is to book a tour bus going to Fallsview Casino. It is a roundtrip tour from Mississauga and the pick up location is in the (we got picked up on this location), Centre View Dr, Mississauga, ON L5B 4C1, Canada.

You will see a lot of casino patron waiting for their bus on this location. The bus usually comes after 1 hour of every tour.My bus arrived at 10 am.You will be dropped off on the Fallsview Hotel Casino vicinity itself. The perks of riding on this bus is you will get a free voucher to play on the casino if you are a first time guest and the its location of dropped off is the best.Niagara fall is just right below. You can have your schedule of return for the bus on the next day as long as you keep your ticket going back to Mississauga, same place where you got picked up.

The price for the roundtrip bus is 35CAD

From toronto, you can take the bus going to Mississauga city centre from Kipling station or you can the take the train which ever convenient for you.

Another way which just made recently is FLIXBUS.Check out their site www.flixbus.ca
